Mom Is on TV is basically one really inappropriate misunderstanding seen through the innocence of a kid.

A child is sitting on the floor watching television with his stuffed animal when an adult video comes on. He has absolutely no understanding of what he is actually watching. He just sees the woman on the screen, thinks she looks like his mom, and casually yells to his dad, “Dad!! Mom is on TV!”

Meanwhile, what is happening on the television could not be further from something a child should be watching. 😂

I like the contrast because the kid is completely innocent. To him there is nothing sexual, shocking, or embarrassing about the situation. He recognizes someone who looks like his mom and announces it with the same excitement a kid would have if they saw their parent on the news.

The adults looking at the painting understand the joke immediately, which makes the viewer part of it. We know what the kid does not know. His innocence is what makes an otherwise extremely inappropriate scene funny.

There is also something I like about putting something so absurd inside such a simple childhood setting. The kid is sitting on the carpet with a stuffed animal, completely comfortable and unaware that he has just created what would probably be one of the most uncomfortable conversations imaginable for his dad.

It does not need some enormous philosophical meaning. Sometimes I make something because the situation makes me laugh, and the more uncomfortable the joke becomes, the funnier I find it.

To him, Mom is famous.

Dad probably has some questions.
